Going Open Closed Beta!

This website is staggeringly Web 1.0. Or Web 0.9 beta, or something similar. Honestly, where else on the web do you see such a disgustingly antiquated “Hey, look, we friggin’ updated! Here’s some links!” This front page should be a blog, with reader comments enabled, running on some disgustingly complicated back end. I shouldn’t be typing friggin’ HTML. There should be a neat little box that I should post my stories in, with little javascript powered trolls that take my words through some sort of translation cybermatrix and spit out a whole new page without me mucking around with the whole mess. Then I should enable digging on the new articles, hope they hit front page and then enable some sort of google advertisting for big bucks.
But, no, that is not how we do it here. It’s just against our nature.
The other week, Homp asked me when I was going to get a new update up. Here’s how he phrased it.
“When are you going to update the web board?”
Our leader barely knows what to call our web presence and I’m thinking about blog-o-sphering the whole thing into the bleeding edge of Web 2.5 or whatever the hell we’re calling it today? No, I think we’re fine for now afterall.
Well, I suppose I should shoot him an electronic mail message and let him know the web board has been downloaded a new update. Then I’ll go dial into my favorite BBS and look at ASCII porn all night.
Ooooh yeah.
